Kentucky woman charged with attempted murder after allegedly trying to kill her sister

A Kentucky woman has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly setting her sister’s mattress on fire while she slept.
Addison Brown, 22, was first accused of intentionally starting the blaze at her sister’s Louisville duplex on June 1, according to police.
Police say Ms Brown’s sister managed to wake up as the bed she was sleeping in erupted in flames.
She told arson investigators that she immediately rolled out and used a pillow to put out the fire.
By the time emergency services arrived, the flames had been extinguished, but Ms Brown had allegedly already fled the scene.
Four other people, including a minor, were reportedly inside the building during the fire.
According to detectives, Ms Brown admitted in messages to several people, including her sister, that she set the fire with the intention to kill, as outlined in the arrest warrant.
On Friday, nearly four months after the incident, Ms Brown was apprehended and now faces charges of attempted murder (domestic violence), arson, and four counts of wanton endangerment.
WLKY reports that a judge has set her bond at $250,000. She is expected back in court on Monday, September 22.
First-degree arson in Kentucky is a felony punishable by 20 to 50 years in prison.
Attempted murder can carry a sentence of up to 20 years, while wanton endangerment can mean up to five years behind bars or a fine of up to $10,000.
