South Africa were bowled out 106 runs behind Australia and the tourists started their second innings with a bang.

Nathan Lyon and Steve Smith were the stars of the day alongside Pat Cummins while some late fireworks from Nic Maddinson really rubbed salt into a poor South Africa’s wounds.

Recap all the action from Durban below.

Goodnight!

That’s it from the third day’s play.

We will be back from 3pm AWST tomorrow for day four.

Farewell!

Stumps

We have now lost 61 overs through the Test to bad light.

It’s only just gone 4.30pm in the afternoon in Durban.

Amazing it happens every day, do they ever see a sunset?

Bad Light, really?

Maddinson has just plonked the ball off his bads for six and the umpires have now called bad light.

The Aussies would be fine with it but they were motoring.

They lead by 139 with 10 wickets in hand.

AUS 0-33

SIX!

Maddinson took on the deep square-leg with a powerful flick but he cleared the fence with ease.

The fielder barely saw it anyway and Mudler has his hands on his hips.

AUS 0-33

Chip and four

Head gets is first boundary after chipping one with the swing through the leg side.

The aggressive start is working well here.

AUS 0-18

Beaten!

Jansen gets some seam away and Maddisnon prods at it.

It just misses the outside edge.

AUS 0-12

Oh boy

Head has chopped one onto his pads from Mulder.

He keeps playing that shot and it ends the same way.

Lucky break that time.

AUS 0-8

Throwing hands!

Maddinson throws everything at a wide ball and belts it behind point for four more!

AUS 0-8

First ball

Nic Maddinson is off the mark with a pull for four!

The short ball was not great.

AUS 0-4
