Stumps and we’ll see you tomorrow
The first day of Test cricket to be played at Mackay’s Great Barrier Reef Arena was certainly a memorable one!
The pitch had something in it for the bowlers, but a return of 18 wickets can mostly be put down to limp displays from the two batting line-ups.
Despite what has been yet another Australian misfire, they are in the driver’s seat on the back of their efforts in the bowlers at the start of the day.
We will see you from 10am local time tomorrow for what should be an intriguing second day.
STUMPS: AUS 8-165, lead by 101
Half-century for Green
In the shadows of stumps, Cam Green has brought up his half-century, fresh off the back of a fine second-innings hundred in Darwin.

Another two-day Test?
After a pair of two-day Tests last summer, another taking place in Mackay now looks a serious possibility.
That would be a huge shame for the locals who are witnessing the first-ever Test in the city, with the Great Barrier Reef Arena pitch hardly a minefield.

Mehidy breaks through!

Green settles
Cam Green has released some building pressure with back-to-back boundaries through the off-side.
