Iron Jack race day drew large crowds and larger fascinators last Saturday with locals flocking to the Port Hedland Turf Club to witness major wins for Pilbara Jockey Austin Galati.

The day started strong for trainer Tom Pike with Jockey Chris Nicoll riding Major League to win on a margin of four by three lengths in front of Top Pocket and Hail Caesar respectively.

But it was jockey Austin Galati that impressed on the afternoon when he rode Mammie to victory in round two, defeating Northern Chill and Noble Spirit comfortably.

Galati continued to stun Hedland locals in a nail biting round three when horse Big Caroline came out on top followed by Lickety Split and Miss Harley Quinn.

It was close to the finish with Sixpence Spent and Bitovemu following just under one length behind.

Port Hedland Turf Club is expected to host ladies race day on July 17.

Locals are set to flock to Marble Bar this weekend for the highly anticipated Marble Bar Races and Ball.
